Tehran, Dec 11 - Unilever Iran and Golestan Co. signed a joint venture partnership agreement on Wednesday Nov 29th whose mission is to locally manufacture and sell foods products in the country. The new joint venture company will develop, manufacture, market and sell new brands and line of food products in Iran market as part of this partnership. Additional details will be announced later". “We are excited about the synergies that both businesses can leverage together in this partnership. Unilever began importing products into Iran in 2001. In 2003 it got registered as Unilever Iran legal entity.. Unilever Iran established its factory in Qazvin in the same year starting local production. Today, Unilever Iran continues to build employment opportunities, as of today Unilever Iran has 400 employees. At present, Lipton teabags, Lux soap, Omo powder and liquid detergents and home care products of Cif and Domestos are being produced in our Qazvin factory. Unilever plans to expand its local production footprint in the country. Unilever Iran has embedded sustainability and social responsibility through its brands investing into community. A great example is Domestos School Hygiene Project which aims to raise awareness of proper hygiene practices among school children.
